„When you come from one place and adapt to another and especially to Argentina with its difficulties it takes a while“ (F.F.)
Franco Fasoli is an Argentinean artist who lives between Barcelona and Buenos Aires, a kind of nomad who loves his homeland with all its contradictions but knows that re-adapting to a place takes time, no matter how much he may feel at home there. Even more so in these times in which we are developing infinite patience with the „bicho este de mierda“.
Returning to Argentina, these last six months have filled him with life memories and this trip has been his main source of inspiration for the exhibition. Through his collages composed from his own photographs taken during “ese tiempito“ he spent there, Franco shows us images that were not just randomly selected but chosen because of their emotional content and the fun he had making them. Many of these are moments of waiting, of observing the things he already knew, while others he simply wanted to paint them or turn them into collages.
Based on his close-up view, we will find furtive, quick images, that he did not compose with to much thought but at the same time felt that certain things were being triggered inside him by looking at them. We will also find scenes from his experience through lockdown, in his studio with Negra and Lalo (some historical cats from the Villa Crespo studio), in his brother‘s house with his Gatito Bebé or with Ludovico (his Catalan cat)… With a similar zenith approach, looking for a static moment, his work has a certain degree of exhibitionism, although he always seeks exposure in a timid way, leading the spectator almost to voyeurism.

Franco Fasoli es un artista Argentino que vive entre Barcelona y Buenos Aires, una suerte de nómada que ama su tierra con todas sus contradicciones. Sabe que re-adaptarse a un lugar requiere su tiempo, por más propio que se sienta y más en estos tiempos en los que estamos desarrollando una paciencia infinita con el “bicho este de mierda”.
Volver a Argentina estos últimos seis meses, le ha llenado de recuerdos de vida, siendo este viaje su fuente de inspiración para esta exposición. A través de sus collages inspirados en fotografías/imágenes sacadas por él en “ese tiempito” que estuvo por allá, nos muestra imágenes que no son elegidas al azar, si no que
lo fueron por el contenido emocional y por el goce que le resultaba hacerlas. Muchas de ellas fueron momentos de espera, de observación de cosas ya cono- cidas, otras simplemente le gustaban formalmente para pintarlas o convertirlas en collage.
Desde su mirada cercana, también encontraremos imágenes furtivas, rápidas, sin componerlas ni pensarlas mucho, pero que a la vez, sentía que ciertas cosas se le iban disparando en su interior con ellas. Encontraremos escenas de la cuarentena, en su taller con la Negra y Lalo (gatos históricos del taller de Villa Crespo), en la casa de su hermano con su Gatito Bebé o con Ludovico (su gato catalán)… Con un mismo enfoque casi cenital, buscando un momento estático, su obra tiene algo de exhibicionista, aunque siempre busca la exposición de manera tímida, llevando al espectador casi a un voyeurismo.
